What it is for
Penetrations for electrical cables and instrumentation tubes pose the same sealing problem as process pipes. Without a reliable seal, the opening becomes an entry point for water, dust and insects, and a retention zone in a washdown area. Pipetite® cable glands apply the flexible self-sealing sleeve principle to this family of penetrations.
Pipetite® Grommet, a single passage
The Pipetite® Grommet is the cable-gland version of the Standard. Five sizes cover passages from 0-15 to 100-180 mm. The flexible lip adapts to cables or tubes of varying cross-section, with the quick installation that characterises the range.

Pipetite® Mini Grommet, tubes and cables from 6 to 12 mm
The Pipetite® Mini Grommet is specialised for small diameters. The same 16 mm hole in the wall accommodates a 6, 8, 10 or 12 mm tube alike, as the lip adapts to the diameter. It is delivered pre-closed to prevent any contamination before installation. NEMA type 4, 4X and 6 approved, IP68 rating.

Grommet for a single cable or tube of large or medium diameter. Mini Grommet for a 6 to 12 mm tube, with NEMA approval. Multi Grommet to group several passages on a single flange.
What does pre-closed mean for the Mini Grommet?
The sleeve is delivered closed at the end, which keeps the penetration sealed until the tube is passed through. This prevents contamination during installation, a useful point in a hygienic area.
Is the Multi Grommet NEMA approved?
No, only the Mini Grommet carries NEMA type 4, 4X and 6 approval with IP68. The Multi Grommet is FDA compliant and watertight, with no NEMA classification to date.
