Limit Switch Boxes, NovAseptic Range
NovAseptic valves are renowned for their performance, reliability, longevity and ease of maintenance. The design and development of each component draw on more than 35 years of experience focused on aseptic design. NovAseptic valves comply with the design qualification criteria established by current GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) for aseptic processes. This is why we have chosen to describe these valves as aseptic by design.
The range was originally developed to address the challenges of tank bottom valves: no dead zone, self-draining and fully drainable, low pressure drop, the smallest possible weld-in flange diameter to bring the agitator closer to the centre of the tank, very simple maintenance since this valve is generally not accessible, diaphragms suited to the materials of pharmaceutical process tanks, and compact or right-angle actuators. This design was then extended to 2-way or 3-way valves, offering an aseptic alternative to the in-line diaphragm valve.
The range is modular. NovAseptic valve bodies are available in imperial sizes, from 1/2″ to 3″. On each body configuration with the same process connection diameter, all diaphragms, actuators and accessories of that same size can be fitted.

Limit switch boxes for NovAseptic valves
Inductive position detection, standard and ATEX versions
Inductive limit switch boxes for NovAseptic valves, for feeding back open and closed position to the PLC. Standard version type PA1251 and ATEX version type PA11-SEV for classified zones. They complement pneumatic actuator control with position feedback.
Role and selection
The limit switch box detects the position of the valve, open or closed, and feeds this information back to the control system. Detection is inductive and contactless, making it reliable and wear-free. It is the component that closes the control loop of an automated valve.
Inductive detection works without mechanical contact, eliminating wear and false contacts. The box confirms to the PLC that the valve has actually reached the commanded position, a prerequisite for reliable sequencing.
The ATEX version type PA11-SEV allows position feedback in explosive atmospheres, consistent with the AX110 ATEX actuator. On a classified line, both actuator and box must be ATEX.

Frequently asked questions
What is the limit switch box for?
To confirm to the PLC that the valve has reached the commanded open or closed position. Without this feedback, automatic sequencing works blind. Inductive detection is contactless, and therefore wear-free.
When is the ATEX version needed?
In a classified explosive zone, with an actuator that is also ATEX. Type PA11-SEV goes hand in hand with the AX110 actuator.
Is it compatible with manual actuators?
The limit switch box is mainly used for automated control of pneumatic actuators. With manual operation, position feedback is of less value, since operation is visual and local.
