NovaSeptic range overview

NovaSeptic nomenclature and configurator

NovAseptic valves are renowned for their performance, reliability, longevity and ease of maintenance. The design and development of each component draw on more than 35 years of experience focused on aseptic design. NovAseptic valves comply with the design qualification criteria established by current GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) for aseptic processes. This is why we have chosen to describe these valves as aseptic by design.

The range was originally developed to address the challenges of tank bottom valves: no dead zone, self-draining and fully drainable, low pressure drop, the smallest possible weld-in flange diameter to bring the agitator closer to the centre of the tank, very simple maintenance since this valve is generally not accessible, diaphragms suited to the materials of pharmaceutical process tanks, and compact or right-angle actuators. This design was then extended to 2-way or 3-way valves, offering an aseptic alternative to the in-line diaphragm valve.

The range is modular. NovAseptic valve bodies are available in imperial sizes, from 1/2″ to 3″. On each body configuration with the same process connection diameter, all diaphragms, actuators and accessories of that same size can be fitted.

NovAseptic valve body for NAC mounting, 2-way configuration, 90° shut-off, 1 weld outlet, NAC mounting. Aseptic design with no dead zone, drainable. Electropolished body with Ra below 0.38 µm, several stainless steel grades. Process pressure -1 to 7 bar. TC connectable. Catalogue references NA##/371-211 and NU###/371-211. EN 10204-3.1 certificate, ATEX version available.

NAC-mounted body, aseptic connection

Type 371 is a 2-way valve body with 90° shut-off, designed for mounting on NAC, the NovAseptic aseptic connection. The outlet is weld-end (BW) and the body can be connected via TC. It provides shut-off and flow on an aseptic line connected to a NAC assembly.

NAC mounting combines the valve body with the NovAseptic aseptic connection, for a connection that can be dismantled without loss of asepsis. The 90° shut-off directs the flow while retaining the drainability and absence of dead zones that characterise the range.

The weld outlet provides a permanent connection on the process side, while the TC connection allows dismantling on the NAC side. This is the basic configuration for 2-way valves on NAC.

Nominal dimensions

Nominal dimensions in millimetres, as per the body data sheet. A bore diameter, B and C overall dimensions, TCi and TC connection diameters. SMS 3008 (NA) and ASTM A269/270 (NU) tubes available.

Dimension A (mm) B (mm) C (mm) TCi (mm) TC (mm)
DN25 (1″ tube) 33,9 58,3 50,0 60,5 77,5
DN38 (1½” tube) 43,8 75,0 60,0 72,0 91,0

The thread connecting to the actuator is NovAseptic-specific, not standard. The process connection is weld-end or TC depending on the configuration.

Frequently asked questions

What is NAC mounting?

NAC, NovAseptic Aseptic Connection, is the range’s aseptic connection. Mounting the valve body on NAC allows a connection that can be dismantled without loss of asepsis, with a TC connection on the connection side.

Which body grade should I choose?

316L covers most pharmaceutical processes. Grades 1.4435 BN2, 904L, AL6XN and Hastelloy C22 meet the needs of more aggressive or more chlorinated fluids, in order of increasing corrosion resistance.

Which diaphragm and which actuator?

All diaphragms and actuators of the same diameter can be fitted on this body. The diaphragm is chosen based on the fluid and temperature, the actuator based on the control mode and zone classification.
