the essential

  • The T-Fit Clean is, according to Zotefoams, the only insulating foam tested according to the FM 4910 cleanroom materials protocol. This is what sets it apart from T-Fit Hygiene.
  • 6.35mm closed-cell PVDF foam insulation, designed for clean room piping.
  • It washes with plenty of water without inflating or holding water, and resists cleaning and disinfection agents.
  • Zero fiber, zero particles, no metal parts: it changes in production without contaminating the area or the effluents.
  • Euroclass B-S1, D0, no fungal development in ASTM G21, FDA approved complete system.

Summary

In the clean room, the piping is washed, disinfected and modified during production. Its insulation must hold the same regime, without releasing either fiber, particles or metal parts.

The T-Fit Clean is clean room insulation designed for this: a closed-cell PVDF foam, delivered as dedicated parts for each diameter, and the only foam insulation tested according to the FM 4910 protocol.

T-Fit Clean: clean room insulation in PVDF

The T-Fit Clean is a Zotek F foam insulation, a closed-cell PVDF produced by Zotefoams. The range includes straight 920 mm tubes, elbows, tees, reductions and boxes of valves and flanges, in 6.35 mm thick. The diameters follow BPE Lasme (from 1/4″ to 4″), DIN 11850 (DN8 to DN100) and Liso 1127 (DN6 to DN80).

Service range: -80°C to +160°C peak. Thermal conductivity of 0.034 W/m.K at 25°C according to LISO 8301, at the level of the best mineral insulators.

To check that a cold line is not condensing, the T-Fit Calculator Gives the minimum thickness according to the diameter, the fluid temperature and the mood conditions. The whole range is also presented on the Official T-Fit website.

Washable with water

Closed cells, hydrophobic: T-Fit does not swell or retain water. Zotefoams exposed a continuous week to six common cleaning and disinfection agents, including a caustic gel and a sporicide. No cracks, no blister, no discoloration.

Zero fiber, zero particles

No fiber, no dust when cutting. Degassing of 44.18 µg/g according to VDI 2083-P17, class ISO-AMC -8.5 according to LISO 14644-8. A recovery of insulation is done in full production, without stopping the zone.

FM 4910: the line that separates the T-Fit Clean from the rest of the market

The FM 4910 is the protocol of FM Approvals, the certification body of the global FM insurer, for cleanroom materials. It does not just measure if a material is burning. It measures two things: the spread of fire and the damage caused by its smoke. In the clean room, it is the smoke that costs the most: a few grams of soot are enough to contaminate an entire area and its equipment.

The T-Fit Clean is tested according to the FM 4910 specification. According to Zotefoams, it is the only insulating foam in this case. In its comparisons, Zotefoams finds no FM 4910 test for melamine foam, NBR/PVC and EPDM elastomers, nor for rock wool.

This is also what sets him apart from his cousin, the T-Fit Hygiene. Same family of PVDF foam, same resistance to washing, but another formulation (Zotek F43 HT), designed for food processing and without FM 4910 test.

To our knowledge, no other piping insulator meets FM 4910, Euroclass B-S1, D0, zero particles and wash with plenty of water.

Elbows and tees dedicated to each diameter

The T-Fit Clean is installed with its form parts: elbows, tees, reductions and valve boxes, dedicated to each ASME BPE, DIN 11850 or ISO 1127 diameter. Straight tubes cut with a cutter for The adjustment in length, without shears, without sheet metal, without sharp edges.

Making your own elbows or tees by cross-checking straight lengths is a false economy. The joints multiply, the water vapor tightness is no longer guaranteed and the rendering is not at the level of a clean room. One piece per function, one reference per diameter.

No metal parts in the effluents

A heat insulated under sheet metal is screws, rivets and sheet metal scraps. At the first disassembly, a part part in the floor siphons. It is then found in the lifting pumps, in the sieve filters, then in the neutralization unit. The T-Fit does not contain any metal parts: its closure is done by PVDF tape and silicone sealant.

No fungal development

ASTM G21 test: 5 fungal strains, 28 days at 28-30°C and more than 85% relative humidity. Result: no growth, note 0. The smooth surface of the T-Fit does not retain any debris or nutrients.

A complete system, FDA approved

Shape parts dedicated to each diameter, PVDF tape and silirub 2S silicone sealant are provided together. All components are FDA approved: foam resin, PVDF tape (FDA 21 CFR 177.2510 and 177.2600) and Silirub 2S mastic (FDA 21 CFR 177.2600 (e)).

Security and durability

Euroclass B-S1, D0 according to LEN 13501-1. Flame propagation index from 0 to ASTM E84, UL 723 certified. Personal side, the measured contact temperature is 33°C on a 159°C piping, according to LastTM C1057 for a contact of 5 s. On the operating side, the manufacturer announces a replacement interval of the order of 10 years.

what to remember

A clean room piping washes, disinfects and changes in production. Its insulation must follow the same regime. This is the T-Fit Clean specifications.

frequently asked questions

Le T-FIT Clean supporte-t-il le nettoyage à grande eau ?
Oui.
Oui.
