Visual glossary ASME BPE Part DT: the photo of each code

The ASME BPE standard identifies each connection with a code (DT-4.1.1-1, DT-4.1.2-4, DT-4.1.4-1), but this code says nothing about the shape of the part to which is unfamiliar with the part dt. This glossary makes the opposite of thePillar article dedicated to the ASME BPE standard : it starts from the visual to go back to the code, and from the code to the corresponding product sheet.

the essential

  • Each ASME BPE connection has a part code DT: DT-4.1.1 Elbows, DT-4.1.2 Tees and Cross, DT-4.1.3 Reductions, DT-4.1.4 Ferrules, DT-4.1.5 corks.
  • The old pre-2016 marker (DT-7, DT-9, DT-11…) is indicated in parentheses.
  • The ends are read in the designation: to weld (orbital), clamp, or one of each (elbow DT-4.1.1-2, tee DT-4.1.2-7, reduction DT-4.1.3-2).
  • Elbows 88° (DT-4.1.1-9) and 92° (DT-4.1.1-10) compensate for a flow slope without additional component.
  • The instrument tee (DT-4.1.2-10) receives a sensor, not a process stitching.
  • The eccentric reduction (DT-4.1.3-1) preserves the low draining point of the self-draining lines.

Summary

Each entry of this ASME BPE Part DT glossary associates: the standardized code, its old mark pre-2016 in parentheses when it exists, a 3D rendering of the component, and the link to its complete product sheet (dimensions, tolerances, nuances available). The codes follow the numbering of the ASME BPE-2026 edition. In the designations, “to weld” means an automatic welding end (orbital) and “clamp” a hygienic collar end.

Elbows: ASME BPE Part DT-4.1.1

DT-4.1.1-1 (DT-7) 90° elbow to weld

The most common elbow in the range: two ends to weld automatic (orbital), without collar.

The dismountable version of U-back, two clamp ends.

Product sheet DT-4.1.1-8 →

DT-4.1.1-9 88° elbow to solder

A slightly less than 90° angle, useful for compensating a flow slope without adding a component.

Product sheet DT-4.1.1-9 →

DT-4.1.1-10 92° elbow to weld

Symmetrical of the 88° in an over-angle, to compensate for a flow slope in the other direction.

Product sheet DT-4.1.1-10 →

Tees and Crosses: Part DT-4.1.2

DT-4.1.2-1 (DT-9) tee equal to solder

Three ends to weld automatic, output of the same diameter as the line.

DT-4.1.2-2 (DT-15) equal tee to solder, clamp output

Automatic welding main line, side outlet of the same diameter in clamp.

Product sheet DT-4.1.2-2 →

DT-4.1.2-3 (DT-25) Tee equal to short output, solder / clamp

Automatic welding line, short clamp output: the reduced stitching length limits the dead arm.

Product sheet DT-4.1.2-3 →

DT-4.1.2-4 (DT-18) Tee equals 3 clamp branches

The three ends in clamp, for a completely removable assembly.

Product sheet DT-4.1.2-4 →

DT-4.1.2-5 (DT-27) short clamp tee

The three ends in clamp, short side exit.

Product sheet DT-4.1.2-5 →

DT-4.1.2-6 (DT-10) tee reduced to soldering

the side outlet is of a diameter less than the main line; Three ends to weld automatic.

Product sheet DT-4.1.2-6 →

DT-4.1.2-7 (DT-14) Reduced tee with short clamp output, soldering line

Automatic welding line, reduced and short clamp output.

Product sheet DT-4.1.2-7 →

DT-4.1.2-8 (DT-19) clamp reduced tee

Three clamp ends, lower diameter side outlet.

Product sheet DT-4.1.2-8 →

Three ends clamp, reduced and short output.

Product sheet DT-4.1.2-9 →

DT-4.1.2-10 (DT-28) Welding instrument tee
